OOTD: Country Racing; Geelong St. Patrick’s Cup

20140316-201224.jpg Happy Monday and St. Patrick’s Day my darlings! *puts on the best smile I can muster on a Monday while slowly crying inside*.

I told you all on Friday that I was off to Geelong for the St. Patrick’s Cup and a girly weekend away. Well my gal pal Erin and I entered into the Fashions on the Field competition but alas we didn’t win! Oh well, it was our first time competing so we couldn’t really be too down about it. Now we know that we need to step up our game by 1000% for the Spring Racing Carnival if we want to win, as these chicks were fierce. This means intense preparation for the next 6 months! 😉

20140316-205141.jpg I chose to wear my new navy lace 3/4 sleeve skater dress from Asos which has a beige belt (and was a steal for just over $30) that I teamed with my nude Nine West shoes (natch!) and white fascinator made by Erin (such a talented lass).

20140316-205513.jpgAlthough the race day was a little quieter than we had expected we still had a fun day out and I managed to back a few winners before the rain settled in. We also entered ourselves into the Country’s Best Dressed Racegoer Competition, which if you’re feeling generous you can vote for me (and Erin) via the link.

  1. I just saw this post and I love it! I am a fan of horse racing and dressing up and wearing hats ! I even made a couple of fascinators to wear. I will be going to del mar (california) opening day in July which is a big fancy dress up show for me so I will definitely need some ideas!!

Now it's your turn...let me know what you think. I love reading your comments! :)
