If you have read any fashion magazine in the last a billion years you know that the little black dress is a staple to have in your wardrobe. I’m usually not one to follow the rules but this is one tip I would definitely recommend and follow. The LBD can be worn in any situation – whether it be for a casual day out, a day at the office or a night on the town. All you need are a few twerks (and not the Miley kind) to change your look.
Today I thought it’d be fun to share my three different looks with my fave LBD from Target. My dress is a classic A-line with no embellishment, but you could wear any type you have. These simple tips could easily translate to any staple piece in your wardrobe, be it a pair of black pants or jeans or your favourite shirt. The beauty of it all is that you don’t need to spend a lot of money (which is always my favourite part!) to make these changes.
Look One: Casual Fun Times Rosie
This is a fun, flirty look and one of my personal picks if I were gallivanting about on the weekend. The LBD teamed with a denim jacket and finished off with a fun scarf, necklace and flats. You could swap out the denim jacket for a shirt tied off at the waist or even a sweater to dress it down and instead of flats wear a pair of funky sneakers if that’s your thing.
Look Two: Boardroom Bad Ass Rosie
Back in May I showed you how I styled my LBD for a corporate chic look; here I teamed it with a white blazer and black heels and some simple chunky lucite jewellery for a monochromatic OOTD. All that’s missing is a clipboard and my whip for busting peoples chops! Again, any blazer could work in this instance and if your office is a lot more corporate than mine you can skip the chunky jewellery and replace it with a simple delicate piece to finish off your look.
Look Three: Dressed – Up Damsel Rosie
It’s time to take this LBD out on the town! Here I’ve simply paired it with some chunky Marge Simpson-esque pearls, a fuchsia pink pashmina to really stand out in the crowd and a funky pair of sparkly silver heels and finished off with a simple black clutch. You’re ready for a night at the ballet or a bit of jazz club fierceness. Wherever you’re off to this ensemble will work. And there you have it – one simple, classic, little black dress worn three different ways. This is a great way to revive your wardrobe if you don’t want to go out and spend big bucks. Do you have a favourite piece in your wardrobe you like to wear different ways?
