I can tell you the moment I fell in love with liquid liner; I saw Kylie Minogue on the front cover of some flashy mag (I can’t remember if it was Elle or Madison, but you get the drift) and her eyeliner was ON. FUCKING. POINT! I had to know what was going on with her eye make-up game. Now at this stage, we’re talking about 7 or 8 years ago, I wasn’t wearing make-up on a daily basis and I certainly wasn’t brave enough to try liquid liner. I’d tried it when I was working back in Japan but I just couldn’t get the hang of it and ended up like the classic meme:
Regardless of my shit eyeliner skills I HAD to know what Kylie was wearing and it turned out to be Rimmel Exaggerate Eyeliner. I quickly honed my eyeliner game and it’s been my go-to eyeliner ’til to this day. That’s not to say I cheat on my Rimmel – I do, A LOT! I love getting recommendations for good liquid liner and I know from experience that Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner is the SHIT!
Here’s the spiel from the Sephora website:
Achieve eye perfection with this high-pigment, waterproof liner that stays put all day for a fade-, melt-, crack-, and run-resistant finish. The superfine and flexible brush tip glides along the lashline for incredibly fluid application, allowing you to create a variety of looks with ease. Unlike traditional felt tip liners, this brush tip will not fray.
I couldn’t have said it better myself! The applicator pen is super easy to use and the fine tip helps create delicate lines and an effortless flick – something the chunky nub of the Rimmel liner doesn’t really allow for. I love wearing this liner when I’m wearing eyeshadow and want to finish off the look with a simple cat-eye to change up my usual thick liner. It does last all day so it’s fade resistant, but in saying that if I were to rub my eyes then it’d definitely smudge – so it’s not 100% budge-proof.
Are you a fan of Kat Von D liners?
