Egg-static for Easter

egg nests

Can you see it dollface?? It’s the finish line, bright and clear!! Lent is almost over and Easter is finally upon us! YAAAAAAS! I can’t believe I’ve gone the last 45 days without coffee, chocolate, chips OR Diet Coke. And you know what? I’m totally going to make up for it come Easter Sunday when I shove ALL of the chocolate into my fat little mouth until I end up in a sugar coma. #SorryNotSorry

In preparation for all of the chocolate eating; henceforth known as CHOCAGEDDON, I wanted to share my simple recipe for chocolate nests. I thought they’d make a cute little addition to a table setting on Easter Sunday. Literally all I did was melt 200g of chocolate (any kind, I did dark but if you’re not a fan then go with the regular old milk chocolate) and added in some choc almond spread (kinda like Nutella I guess) and then broke up about 100g of pretzels and stirred them all together and formed them into nests in muffin tins and then let them set in the fridge and voilà – a cute and easy way to display your eggs!!

Now, alas, I don’t know what these actually taste like, because no chocolate shall pass my lips ’til the stroke of midnight this Saturday/Sunday (and yes I’m staying up ’til then!) but you know the combo of sweet and salty will just be ever so fucking amazing that I have no doubt they’re going to be a hit.

rosie bunny earsMy darling dollfaces, I also had these grand plans to make an Easter themed cake and DIY crafty shit and paint my nails in some egg-cellent creation but time has crept up on me and let’s face it, I’ve just been thinking about the impending CHOCAGEDDON so I haven’t made anything else, but these fab lasses have you sorted for all your Easter needs. Check them out….

  • If you’re looking for a treat that’ll impress Nicole over at Chips & Champagne has you sorted with a Salted Caramel Hot Cross Bun Pudding – I don’t even like hot cross buns but I would totally eat the shit out of this!
  • For all things crafty Sara at Tell Love and Chocolate has a whole bunch of Easter Brunch as well as DIY ideas which will make you super envious (if you’re anything like me and have two left thumbs!)
  • And the gorgeous Lynne at Bobs + Rouge has your Easy Easter Nail Art sorted!

I want to wish you all a safe and happy Easter weekend! Be good and if you have to steal back some chocolate from the kids I will not be throwing you any side-eye. You do what you gotta do! xx

  1. First of all well done that you lasted the whole Lent! I caved three weeks in, lol. And a happy Easter to you too.

And I have actually chosen the choccies for my kids based on what I like, only fair I reckon.

    😉

    • Thanks Ana, I can be pretty determined when I want to be – although I didn’t give up the booze, that’d be THE tough one LOL!
Happy Easter to you and your family. Enjoy those choccies 🙂 xo

  2. My goodness, I cannot believe you actually gave up that much stuff! I’m proud of you, but shocked! 45 days is insane! I can barely get through a week without ice cream/chocolate. I bet you’re stacking up on those chocolate eggs aren’t you? Lol

  3. We made it boo!! YAAAASSS! The second I get back to London I’m touring the shops for cut-price Easter eggs. Gonna get messy. How CUTE are these little nests? Love! ♡

  4. I don’t drink coffee, but no chips (both fries or crisps, depending on which of us is talking) OR Diet Coke? I applaud your restraint and resilience. By all means, you deserve the reward you have earned. 🙂

Now it's your turn...let me know what you think. I love reading your comments! :)
