Bloggers United – Melbourne Meet Up

 The cool graffiti around Southgate

When I first started blogging about two years ago I scoured the internet for any Melbourne blogger meet-ups hoping to find like minded gals (and guys) who could pass on some friendly advice and to have other people to talk to and bounce ideas off of so I could finally stop boring the shit out of my friends! Alas, I couldn’t find a thing and I was so disheartened thinking I was the only blogger in Melbourne (hahaha far from it it seems!). All that changed last Sunday when I finally attended my first blogger event WOOHOO!

Our gorgeous hosts Nikita & Jasmine

The girls from Bloggers United, Nikita and Jasmine, did a great job hosting the inaugural Melbourne Meet-Up, bringing together 11 of the finest beauty, fashion, fitness, lifestyle (you name it!) bloggers Melbourne has to offer at P.J. O’Brien’s at Southgate. We spent three hours chatting about our frustrations with blogging, tips on how to contact PR agencies and playing fun games (and yes I was one of the lucky prize winners!).

I had no idea what to expect from the event as I’m never really good at networking and “selling my brand” but I truly came away both excited at meeting new friends as well as confident knowing that I now have a network of local bloggers I could ask for advice and workshop ideas with.

And we didn’t leave empty handed either! Nikita and Jasmine were able to score us all a goody bag from Waxaway, who sponsored our meet-up. We all received the fab products above! I personally am ecstatic for the tweezers and comb in one to tame my unruly brows – this is definitely a new staple in my handbag – thanks Waxaway!!

  1. Sounds like fun, and thanks for the new blog recommendations. I tossed up going to a Sydney event a couple of years ago and chickened out, I’m actually a bit shy believe it or not.

  2. Oh my goodness. I don’t even know what to say. I saw this post last night and have been thinking about it all night and all day today in what to say in return for such a beautiful post that really touched me.
I tried to explain it to Jasmine how I felt but it just sounded so weird, It actually sounded like I had just meet a boy and was in love haha!!
But truly thank you soooo sooo much for this lovely kind worded post. It means soo much to me. I’m glad you had a great time with us at Bloggers United, we can’t wait to see you again at many more events.

  3. Yay!! I’m so glad you found a meetup! This sounds amazing! I’m ashamed to say that in London I’m spoiled for choice with meetups but haven’t attended one yet. This made me happy this morning! ♥

Now it's your turn...let me know what you think. I love reading your comments! :)
