Remember last year when I went gaga over Maybelline’s Color Elixir gloss after seeing them on an ad while in the U.S.? These glosses have been around for a while now but I still wear my Fuchsia Flourish all the time as the colour pay off is beautiful. I wanted to grab some more colours while on this recent trip to the U.S. as they are $17.95AUD versus $8.99USD (so only $12AUD after conversion). That’s quite a bit cheaper and you know how much I love a bargain!
Maybelline Color Elixir in Glistening Coral
Glistening Coral looks a lot more orange in the tube and in my swatch but is a subtle peachy colour on my lips – bummer! I really should have grabbed Mandarin Rapture for the bright electric orange I was after but I just wasn’t thinking (drug store make-up induced hysteria?). In saying that, I do love the colour and think it’ll be a great addition to my summer make-up repertoire for those “no make-up” days.
Maybelline Color Elixir in Vision in Violet
My search for a purple lipstick is OVER! Vision in Violet is exactly what I’ve been after all these years. The colour reminds me of being in an episode of Degrassi Junior High; oh so 80s and colourful. It looks exactly the same in the tube and on my lips which is so rare. As I mentioned with Fuchsia Flourish, the Color Elixir glosses are so thick and creamy, without being gooey and sticky like most glosses, and the colour pay off (in this case especially) is gorgeous.
Are you a fan of Maybelline Color Elixir glosses? Is there ANOTHER colour I should try out?!
