Fierce Females: Dolly Parton

dolly parton

Dolly knows that the higher the hair the closer to Jesus!

Growing up I wasn’t a huge country music fan (still not super keen on it but I’m a lot more tolerant than I used to be) but this Sunday’s Fierce Female made a massive impression on me not so much for her amazing musical talents but as probably the first woman I “knew” who had plastic surgery and wasn’t afraid to let everyone know. As a kid Ms Parton boobs were (and still are in my eyes) FABULOUS!

Dolly Parton is quintessentially the queen of country music and now that I’m older and a lot more mature *ahem* I love Dolly’s music and her movies even more so. She was inducted in the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1999 and has been nominated a whopping 46 times for a Grammy Award! Not only that let’s not forget her brilliant performances in Steel Magnolias and 9 to 5, which I only saw just recently – WTF is wrong with me?!! AND we also have her to thank for hearing I Will Always Love You at every wedding we ever attend EVER!

This Sunday I don my push up bra and sing Jolene from the top of my lungs and salute the fabulously wicked Dolly Parton!

I’m not offended by all the dumb blonde jokes because I know I’m not dumb… and I also know that I’m not blonde – Dolly Parton
