NYE! Cheers to 2015!

Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh! Is anyone else feeling a tinge of the end of year blues? It’s not that I’m overly sad about anything in particular, more that another year has come and gone so quickly. When I get like this I like to make up a list of all the great things that have happened and the lessons I’ve learnt throughout the year to help me appreciate the year that’s been and help me appreciate the awesome year that lays ahead.

So here’s a list of the best lessons I’ve learnt in this year:

ONE:           The biggest lesson I’ve learnt this year is that I know I can stick to a goal; case in point – my Fierce Females series. When I first came up with the idea I wasn’t too sure I’d see the series right through to the end and perhaps let it fall by the way side, but as you all saw last Sunday, I wrapped up the series and managed to bring you one Fierce Female every Sunday of 2015 WOOHOO! – check it out here if you haven’t caught up.

TWO:          Just because something glitters doesn’t mean it’s fabulous and more often than not products that promise you sparkle are actually full of shit! Once again I was swindled by Lip Rock and this time around they claimed to be able to give me gorgeous metallic lips and instead they were left aching and sore and nowhere near intergalactic as I wanted!

THREE:          Believe in yourself, you’ve got this!! When I was first asked to participate in the Girls’ Day Out festival my first reaction was to say “no thank you” as I really didn’t think I had anything to contribute. But after the three day event I gained the confidence in me and my little blog and felt like a little superstar.

FOUR:          Travel is always, without a doubt, a good idea! This is an oldie but a goodie. Whenever I feel like I’m stuck in a rut the best thing I can do for myself is take a little vacay. Whether it be flying to Vegas for the week or a weekend getaway just being able to get out of my every day surrounds and shake some shit up helps clear my mind tremendously. I love that I get to explore a little bit of the planet and perhaps meet some wild and colourful characters along the way.

may your new year sparkle and shine

FIVE:          Double denim IS a good idea. For far too long I was averse to wearing denim on denim and, thankfully, I have left that silly idea in the dust!! I love wearing different colours and shades and mixing them up. Nothing says “I’m a rock star and have no fucks to give” than some double denim action.

SIX:          Never, ever, and I mean EVER, compare yourself to others, ever! We’re all special and crazy and kooky in our own little way. We all work hard (or don’t) for what we want and what we think we deserve. We all have our own fun and fabulous stories to share. If we were all the same the world would be one fucking boring place to live!

SEVEN:          Looking after yourself isn’t being selfish, in fact it’s critical! If you’re not healthy and well and mentally sound how will you ever be able to help and support others? You really must take time out, daily, for yourself to recharge your batteries and energise your soul.

happy new year

Happy New Year dollface!

…And with that my darlings I wish you a fabulous evening. Whether you’re in bed before the stroke of midnight or dancing away until the wee hours of the morning, stay safe and enjoy yourself! I will, without a doubt, be having a glass of champers and toasting the great year that was and welcoming in a fabulous new year! I hope to see you all back in 2016 and I wanted to thank you all so much for reading and commenting and liking my blog posts throughout the year, it’s all very much appreciated xx
