When Life Gives You Lemons Make A Fucking Margarita!

So, in a blink and you missed it moment, I was dating someone for all of 30 seconds there and I was all set to go away this past weekend for a sexy rendezvous to Sydney (said fella was a Sydney-sider) when the romance fizzled out and I was left with a trip to Sydney sans sexy time! RUDE!! Now y’all know I’m not one to wallow in self-pity and believe the best way to get over such fuckery is to dust yourself off and try again (thanks Aaliyah!).

Since the trip was already paid for I took the opportunity to spend the time pampering myself and doing whatever the hell I felt like doing…so you know there was loads of food, champers and shopping in the mix!

After a gorgeous brunch with some fabulous old friends on Saturday morning I took myself off to Sephora A.K.A. Rosie’s Home Away From Home (in different circumstances this can also be Kmart, don’t think I’ve forgotten about you my beloved!) and was all set to spend copious amounts of time AND cash in store but I just wasn’t feeling it! WTF?! First off the sales staff were curt and rude. I get it, I love the attitude that comes with the prestige of working at Sephora, in fact I relish it, but not this day. I wanted them to kiss my ass and tell me how great my eyeliner looked! No chance of that happening.

Next up they didn’t have my shade of foundation (Lancôme Teint Idole Unltra 24H Makeup for those playing at home) in stock and was told to try Myer ummmm WHAT?! And finally they didn’t have any regular Beauty Blenders in stock, they were all in packs of 2-3 or came with something called a “bling ring” (pic above) – OK to be honest, that’s kinda cool, a blinged out holder for my makeup sponge…I can live with that. I also managed to pick up another Kat Von D eyeliner and an IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness cream which I’ve been dying to try. Review to come, obvs!

After not spending nearly as much as I’d like to have in Sephora I took myself off to Priceline and picked up some more QV Rescue Gel, a face mask and SJP’s Lovely.

Once I was sufficiently hydrated *ahem, champers, ahem* I took myself off to the hotel’s rooftop pool and spent an hour reading my book in the sun and before I knew it it was time for my hour-long massage….BLISS! Of course after the massage I needed to have a little lie down. Pampering oneself is hard work! Once I was all rested up I took myself off to one of my favourite, no frills Japanese restaurants which, thankfully, was around the corner from my hotel.

On the way back to my hotel I stopped off at the gorgeous Gowlings Bar and had myself a margarita. It was delicious and I wondered why I didn’t drink them more often, perhaps the $19 price tag had something to do with it? Back at the hotel I slapped on a face mask and had a glass, or 2, of red wine before settling into the bath for a while. What better way to finish off the evening?

I woke up on Sunday, after a lovely sleep in, feeling super refreshed and ready to tackle the world…but first I needed a burger!! After all, it WAS almost lunch time.

The most beautiful part of the whole weekend was that I managed to finish TWO books!! I can’t even remember the last time I smashed through that many books in such a short time. FABULOUS! So it may not have been the weekend I first had in mind but it definitely still rocked. Have you ever had plans that fell through but then ended up having an even better time?

  1. Good for you honey! So glad you pampered yourself. I live in Sydney and have found some stores are rather chaotic and sadly some aren’t on top of re-ordering out-of-stock items. Still love the city though. It gets in your veins!

  2. Sounds like an amazing weekend of me-time! (Minus the cranky sales associates, blah) Boss ladies don’t need a man to have a fab time any way 😉 Good job on finishing TWO books! I haven’t even been able to finish a chapter of one lately…maybe I need a personal mini-vaca! Hope you’re back refreshed and ready to keep taking on the world! 🙂 xo

  3. As soon as I read you were coming to Sydney I knew there would have been a Sephora trip hahaha 🙂 Glad you enjoyed your trip to my town and sorry about the fuckery… or lack there of, but you seemed to make up for it very well 🙂

  4. CHILE!! I am #TeamRozmeri all the effing way and that dude is a *insert lavish Croatian swear word* who will be kicking himself for the rest of his life (and possibly beyond). Your weekend looked absolutely incredible, I love the pics, and I LOVE YOU. Hugsies my darling xx

Now it's your turn...let me know what you think. I love reading your comments! :)
