At least 75 women died last year as a result of domestic violence. SEVENTY FIVE! That number just absolutely astounds me. That’s 75 mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, cousins, lovers, friends who have lost their lives by the hands of a partner!
What’s also devastating is that 1 in 3 women living with domestic violence don’t know where to find help and Share The Dignity (a great initiative that helps donate sanitary products to homeless women) and Cottons are hoping to change that statistic.
In this fabulous new initiative Cottons tampons will now have the 1800 RESPECT helpline number printed on the inside of the flip top lid. It’s a discreet and private reminder for women to know that there is help out there.
If you, or someone you know, need support remember 1800 RESPECT is there to help with trained counsellors available 24 hours a day.
