I refuse to acknowledge that a quarter of the year has already come and gone! Somebody please call SOMEONE and tell them I’d like to start all over again please! I finally feel the brakes are about to be applied and I’m a little excited to know there are a couple of quiet weekends ahead.
With the craziness of the last five weeks I’ve barely had time to read (never mind my addiction to playing Mahjong on my phone!) and have only finished one book – Stoner by John Williams. Hmmmm not sure how I feel about this book. Has anyone read it? Makes me want to get up and DO something, you know? I’m also part way through re-reading The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub. I’ve decided to re-read a Stephen King book in between the pile I have on my bedside table. I devoured most of his books as a teenager and can’t remember some of them so I’m going back to savour them as an adult – PLUS it saves me money buying more books!
I left you at the end of February just as I was heading to the Miss Muddy obstacle course in Ballarat. As you all know I had a fabulous time with the other blogger gals from Bloggers United and I even stayed the weekend with my bestie, Tez, and we had a great time eating/drinking/reminiscing about my time in Ballarat as a uni student.
There were even more concerts in March. My sis and I ventured off into wine country and saw Rob Thomas again, this time out at Rochford Winery and again he was fabulous. We also caught Pseudo Echo and Belinda Carlisle at the Zoo which was an awesome 80s filled night of dancing and soapie star spotting. And of course there was Queen Madge! SIGH! I can’t quite put my finger on it but the concert wasn’t the fabulousness I was expecting. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved it and adore Madonna, but it was lacking something…
I finally made it down to George’s Bar and took part in some Seinfeld trivia. Have you guys heard about this place? It’s an ultra cool hipster bar dedicated to none other than George Costanza from Seinfeld, and every Monday night there’s trivia UM, HELLO! That’s my jam, yo!! I’m a huge Seinfeld fan from way back so I had to try this. Alas, our team came somewhere in the middle; the questions were HARD and pretty obscure. We’ve vowed to try again and go back soon, in the meantime I’m brushing up on my Seinfeld knowledge.
There is always room for cocktails and dessert in my world! Oh, and champagne. Of course I celebrated my 36th birthday this month so there has been plenty of booze and treats. The New York baked cheesecake was divine and the peanut butter parfait was everything I’ve ever dreamed of and more!
Speaking of my birthday, I was spoilt as usual! There were a couple of dinners and lunches and too many gorgeous presents, like these beautiful lilies. I also scored a Fitbit which I’m obsessed with! I thought I was relatively fit, but an office job just proves how much I sit on my ass all day.
There was also a quick dash to the vet this month, as Hamish was having a tough time with his fur balls. Damn long-haired cats!! While there I did manage to make a new friend, Esme. She was AH-dorable and I wanted to take her home. I think Hamish learnt his lesson after having had a thermometer shoved up his butt, he played nice after that and has been behaving himself ever since!
There was more fitnessing this month for me with a quick 5km run in the Run For The Kids fun run as well as a not so short 17km bush walk. I love getting stuck into long walks but DAMN my hips aren’t such a big fan. Is this old age finally creeping in??
OK, who’s on Snapchat? I have been having way too much fun making stupid faces on this app and I can’t stop? If you’re on it let me know, I’m always looking for new people to
stalk follow. I’m Rosie Rockets if you want to look me up. Also, are you on Periscope?? I’ve been live streaming bits and pieces of the concerts I’ve been to. I also want to start a bit of a blog/live video thing. Not sure what I’d talk about or whether I’d be interesting but would you guys watch if I started? What should I ‘scope about??
I took a week of last week to refresh my blogger batteries again and it was great. I managed to gobble up some amazing blog posts out there like these…
- I’m dying to get back to Japan ever since living there years and years ago and this list of 10 weird and wonderful things to do in Tokyo is stoking my wanderlust!
- I feel like I’ve been neglecting my beauty blogger duties…no, no it’s not an excuse to buy more make-up, thank you very much! I really want to try this Too Faced Hangover Primer – anyone else tried it? Thoughts??
- Ever get those Sunday night blues? You know what I’m talking about, you’re sitting on the couch around 6pm and you suddenly think SHIT! I’ve got to go back to work/school/adulting tomorrow. Well, here are some tips to combat those blues. My favourite is number 3!
What’s new in your world dollface?
