The other day I put a call out to my fellow blogging gals and asked them what title they give themselves in their media kits (FYI for my non blogging pals out there: a media kit is a little PR piece bloggers but together with their stats, bio info etc. to circulate to agencies to hustle up
freebies collabs with companies) as I wasn’t sure what to call myself. I generally tell people I’m the Editor of A Red Lip And A Nude Shoe but I wanted something a little extra. There were some fab suggestions like “Founder & Many Hat Wearer”, “Girl Boss” and my favourite “Lipstick Lover” because DUH! and I just knew I had to nab that.
So being the said Lipstick Lover I absolutely jumped at the chance to try out Chantel Rahme’s new lipstick line; CR Luxury Lips. Chantel is an Australian based Make-Up Artist who has created a gel based, highly pigmented, demi matte lippy that suits all skin tones. She designed and created the range from scratch out of a desire to fill a void she found when applying clients’ makeup.
“Over the past 15 years in the industry I was constantly mixing a range of lipstick tones to create a right colour effect for different faces and shades to suit different skin tones. I felt restricted not only by the colours available, but the limited textures which would not necessarily complement a person’s face due to the skin tones and structure.”
The first thing I noticed was the gorgeous red case the lipstick comes in, it’s very lux indeed! It’s pretty clever as it stands out at the bottom of my handbag amongst the other black and silver cases (I usually have about 5 different lipsticks rolling around loose in the bottom of my handbag). I chose the shade “Deep in Love” which is a gorgeous orange based red (below). I absolutely love this shade and think it’s a great colour to wear day to day. CR Luxury Lipstick definitely applies very smoothly and feels soft and balm-like thanks to Vitamin E being one of the key ingredients.
I tend to get about 2-3 hours wear before having to reapply, which isn’t very long at all considering it’s being marketed as a long lasting lipstick, but the formula is very moisturising and it leaves my lips feeling hydrated so I don’t mind having to swipe on some more fab lippy.
There are 13 shades in the CR Luxury Lipstick range and they all retail for $33 online.
