If I were to get the bare basic treatments at my favourite day spa here in Melbourne I’d be looking at a minimum of $230 for an express facial and microdermabrasion. I’m all for treating myself but those suckers add up! I don’t know about you but I certainly don’t have $230 a month to spend on my skin. With that in mind I’ve been on the lookout for an at-home regime that emulates a microdermabrasion treatment that doesn’t break the bank and I think I’ve found it!
Derma E Microdermabrasion Scrub claims to be a salon treatment alternative and it come pretty damn close. With a tiny dollop worked into wet skin it uses a blend of Dead Sea salt and volcanic sand to help buff dry skin off. It really does feel like your washing your skin with sand but not in an unpleasant, sand in your underwear kinda way. The scrub has lemon essential oil which gives it a gorgeous citrus scent and feels very light when being worked into the skin.
I’ve been using the scrub two to three times a week for the last two weeks and I have noticed an improvement in my dry, scaly skin on my cheeks. My skin still isn’t back to its youthful glow, and let’s face it, it probably never will be what with age, sun damage etc. but I’m trying my best to preserve it.
This is by far the best scrub I’ve used in a long, long time. I love that my skin felt instantly smoother and super soft which I can’t get enough of! At $29.99 it’s a tiny fraction of a salon treatment which saves me money for more important things like these shoes…what do you think?
Do you regularly get spa treatments or are you a fan of at-home cheaper options?
