The Fab Four

I mean, could I reeeeeeeeeally have gone through the complete Sunday Sessions series and not mention The Beatles?! It would be totally remiss of me not to give the Fab Four a massive shout out. They were the biggest band EVER and took rock and roll to a whole new level. Without The Beatles modern music would be completely different (is that a good or bad thing?) since so many musicians have cited them as their biggest influences.

For most people, the mid to late 60s were The Beatles golden years. Don’t get me wrong, with albums like Abbey Road and Sgt. Pepper’s how could you not love them? They grew out their hair, hung out at ashrams and experiemented with their music as well as drugs – groovy, man!

But for me, the early years was where it was at. Something about those two minute ditties really tug at my heart strings and make me smile! Songs like Can’t Buy Me Love, A Hard Day’s Night and I Saw Her Standing There are pure pop/rock genius. I love all that early American rhythm & blues/pop influence in their songs as well as oodles of Elvis! There’s no way you can listen to these songs without tapping your toes or bopping your head. It’s a proven fact (not really) that they will make you feel happier after listening to them!

Smashing haircuts lads!

This is such a simple yet fabulous song I had to feature it this Sunday. Go grab yourself a cup of coffee, kick off your slippers and have a bit of a daggy dance to this classic! Before I get to saying goodbye I wanted to wish you great Sunday dollface x

  1. An aunt of mine bought me a Beatles album for my 12th birthday-Rock n Roll Music Volume 2. I’ve been a huge fan ever since. Of the Beatles, I mean, not my aunt. Though she’s kinda cool.

Now it's your turn...let me know what you think. I love reading your comments! :)
