Lately… June

YOW to the ZA!

To say that my June was epically huge would be an understatement. As some of you may know I just got back from a fabulous 3 week adventure, road tripping around California and Las Vegas, and I’m finding adjusting back into civilian life a little difficult. Just before I left for the trip I was told that I’d have a new Exec to look after (for those of you who aren’t privy to the real Rosie, I’m actually a bad ass Executive Assistant by day and a rocking blogger by night… I know I make it look effortless!) and I’ve really hit the ground running this week to catch up.

Before I get ahead of myself let’s rewind back to the start of the month where it was all kicked off with my dad’s 80th birthday celebrations. For dad to make it to the ripe old age of 80 has been nothing short of brilliant as we all thought we lost him 10 years ago when he had a major stroke. I don’t think he even thought he’d make it so my family were all quite thankful and happy to indulge him by having lunch at his favourite restaurant.

Also, just before I left for the trip I went to see my old favourite Evan Dando play here in Melbourne. This was probably the sixth or seventh time I’ve seen him and I always say that I won’t go again if he were to tour but I know that’s a lie. I so love his sweet ditties and incoherent ramblings.

Whilst away I also happened to see my old favourites New Kids On The Block (with Paula Abdul and Boyz II Men in their “Total Package Tour”) in San Jose as well as my other boy band faves, Backstreet Boys, who we saw twice in Vegas. For those playing at home that brings the tally for the “Year of Live Gigs” up to 14. Honestly, I don’t think my credit card can keep up with all these gigs! Does anyone know a tour promoter that needs an EA?!

New Kids On The Block!

I really can’t wait to share all the pics and stories from my vacay (these are just a teaser) but if I were to cram them all into this one Lately… post it’d be waaaaaaaay too long winded, so as I’ve previously done I’m going to spread them out over a couple of posts so you don’t get inundated. You’ll thank me later as we really did manage to squeeze as much fun into three weeks as we could.

Just give me a few days to recover (maybe with some wine) and wrap my head around the real world for a while…

How was your June dollface?

  1. June has been okay. Weather wise-do you Aussies have the phrase ‘Flaming June’? It is supposed to refer to the hot weather, the flaming sun etc. This month it is more Flaming June! Where the Hell is the flaming Summer?

  2. Rosie , as a long time health oriented person you are to be commended in that you drink wine . I hope it is red wine, white is no good, it’s actually made from grapes without seeds, which is bad, because they use a drug to produce seedless grapes .
The bible is very big on red wine especially for women Zech 9 : 17 [Niv] bible .
Make sure your getting theses foods into your diet [ whole grains, fruit/ veg] ,olive oil , fish, whole milk [grass fed], stay away from canola oil , all pork products , deep fried foods and spring water .
May the God of Christ bless you and keep you from violence .

  3. Glad to hear you had a fabulous time . . . look forward to more updates! Up until the start of this year I was also about the EA life. New execs can be tough, especially if you had a really good relationship with your previous one or if they work in a totally different way to you. Good luck for it! Hope you get along well.

Now it's your turn...let me know what you think. I love reading your comments! :)
